Microsoft recently announced several updates to their commercial licensing and pricing. These changes include a new monthly billing plan for Microsoft 365 Copilot annual subscriptions, standardizing billing for annual subscriptions, and updating Teams Phone and Power BI pricing.
Copilot Annual Subscription with Monthly Pricing
Beginning December 1, 2024, Microsoft introduced a new monthly billing plan for annual subscriptions of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales, and Microsoft 365 Copilot for Service. The new monthly billing option for annual subscription plans will be priced 5% higher than the upfront payment option for the same annual subscription.
Standardized Monthly Billing
To align with the new Copilot monthly billing structure, any customer who chooses an annual subscription with monthly payments will incur a 5% higher price than annual billing (upfront payment). This will go into effect on April 1, 2025, for any new or renewing subscription moving forward.
2025 Product Price Increases
Effective April 1, 2025, the annual subscription price for the following products will also increase:
- Teams Phone Standard
- Current Price: $8 per user per month
- New Price: $10 per user per month
- Power BI Pro
- Current Price: $10 per user per month
- New Price: $14 per user per month
- Power BI Premium
- Current Price: $20 per user per month
- New Price: $24 per user per month
