To Our Clients and Customers,

You may have read a recent Bloomberg report citing the possible presence of chips installed by Chinese manufacturers on motherboards used in Super Micro servers. The report claims that these chips could be used to compromise data and allow China to spy on companies with these chips inside their datacenters.

To date, Super Micro is refuting the claims from the Bloomberg report saying that they have yet to find any malicious chips or to receive reports of customers finding any chips of that nature. Other companies mentioned in the report include Amazon and Apple who also deny having any related issues with the servers in question. Homeland Security issued a similar statement on Saturday, October 6th echoing Amazon and Apple’s sentiments that there are no known issues with the servers.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to our clients and customers, please know that our team is monitoring these developments as they become available to best serve and activate any necessary action plans. We are and will continue to be in contact with our partners who may have utilized any of the servers in question in their own products or as a part of a customer solution.

If you have any questions or concerns about your environment’s security, whether its related to this report or not, please reach out to your Sanity Solutions account executive or call us at 720-570-1668.
